Privacy policy
Updated 24 September 2026 · Safari extension version 0.7.0
PageCraft Studio lets you customize webpage text and appearance in your own browser. This policy covers the Safari package's local editing tools and network activity from resources you choose to configure.
Your rules and settings are stored locally in the Safari extension's browser storage. PageCraft has no built-in publisher analytics, advertising, account service or backend receiving your page edits.
Information used locally
- Page URLs and navigation: the extension reads relevant page URLs and navigation events to match rules and apply them at the right time. A rule may contain an exact page URL or a site pattern. PageCraft does not maintain a general browsing-history log.
- Selected website content: the visual picker inspects selected elements, including their text and appearance. Saved text rules contain an element selector, its original text and your replacement, so the extension can match, reapply and restore the edit.
- Rules and settings: local extension storage holds text, CSS, restricted static HTML, resource URLs, rule preferences, editor drafts and settings that you save or import. Imported rules may retain fields for features unavailable in Safari. Temporary picker state and error messages use session storage.
- Imports and exports: PageCraft reads an import file you select. Exported files can contain URLs, original/replacement text, code and resource paths. Safari rule execution cannot read local file paths or modify file:// pages.
This information provides the customization, preview, persistence, editing, import and export features you request. Page content may contain personal information. Save or export that content only when you intend to retain it in those places.
AI and custom JavaScript
AI page review and AI editing are unavailable in this Safari build. It has no external AI connection, API-key field or AI account service, and it does not send prompts or page snapshots to an AI provider. Apple Intelligence is not connected to PageCraft.
Custom JavaScript rules, including remote JavaScript files, cannot run in this package. HTML rules accept only a restricted static-markup subset. The extension does not request Chrome's userScripts or offscreen permissions.
Resources you choose
You can configure supported remote CSS or static HTML resources and import rules. Loading a chosen resource contacts its host, which can receive ordinary request information such as your IP address, URL and browser headers. Direct extension fetches omit stored credentials; requests made by a page, stylesheet, image or font follow the browser's rules. Resource hosts control their own data practices, and a resource may change after you first add it.
PageCraft's built-in functionality does not send saved text rules to a publisher service, sell user data, or use it for advertising or unrelated profiling. Review resource URLs and imported rules before enabling them.
Storage, retention and your controls
Saved rules and settings remain in the extension's storage until you delete them, clear its data or remove the installation. You can edit, disable, delete, import and export rules. Disabling stops a rule from applying but does not delete its stored data. Use Options to manage rules and Safari's extension website-access controls to choose where PageCraft can run.
Safari removes temporary extensions after 24 hours or when Safari quits. Export rules before ending a temporary test and do not rely on temporary installation data as your only backup. Data transfer between a temporary extension and a future signed app is not automatic.
Exports remain wherever you save them; removing the extension does not delete those files. Anyone who receives an export can read its contents. PageCraft has no publisher cloud backup or cross-browser synchronization.
Permissions and security
Website access permits customization on HTTP and HTTPS pages you allow. Navigation, scripting and storage permissions support matching rules, running the packaged editing tools and retaining your settings. Safari's internal pages and other restricted locations cannot be edited.
Safari isolates extension storage in the browser profile. PageCraft adds no separate encryption layer to rules or exports. Protect access to your device, browser profile and backup files.
Contact and updates
For questions about this development package, contact the publisher through the channel where you obtained it. A public App Store release must provide its publisher support and privacy contact details. Information you send directly to the publisher is outside this extension's local storage.
This policy describes version 0.7.0 for Safari. The Chrome and Microsoft Edge packages have their own capabilities and disclosures. The policy may be revised if this package's behavior changes.
